Crafts

This post is dedicated to some of my crochet and sewing projects. I almost titled it "Things I've Made" but then realized that would include canned goods, food stuffs, and my daughters; seemed a little broad to me. So I stuck to crochet and sewing. Some of these items are recent and some are a few years old but all but the Harry Potter costumes were made during my marriage, which is not yet 5 years old. I wish I had taken photos of all the things I have made over the course of my life. I have been crocheting since I was 10 and I also cross stitch, make things with plastic canvas, and do bead looming projects, so this post would be a great deal too long if I had.

This dragon was made for my nephew, Teddy. That was the year I made several baby blankets as I, my youngest sister, and my sister-in-law were all pregnant.
I actually made two of this guy in this color. I sold one to a friend.

I also made a black and green one for my nephew, Gideon. I intended to make more.

This is Teddy's blanket. It is much less yellow than this- bad lighting.

This is Gideon's blanket.

This was my first Molly Weasley sweater. I have a red and gold striped one to represent Gryffindor, as well.

I made most of these costumes: sweater, both cloaks, vest, wizard's robe and bow tie.

Another year, same costumes.

The robe without the cloak.

I made this sweater for Milli. I ended up going with the butterfly buttons (the rest were here because I posted it on fb for people to vote.

I have made several Christmas gifts (wish I had a pic of my SIL's broomstick lace hat!).

This is the back of the same shawl. I also made her the white renaissance hat to the left and a scarflet.

This is one of four vests that I have made for my husband. You saw the green one in the HP pic.

And here is another one. The fourth is further down the page.

These are a few of the bow ties I have made. So far, I have made something like 26 for my husband and will soon make them for sale. These were my first attempts which is why they are not the same cut.

Peppermint Snowmen!

Peek a Boo!

Vest number four. I'm making my self one to match (but a little more feminine).

I often cover my head when at church. Here are some of the head coverings.

An attempt at some flowers.

Those are foot thongs. And the green and orange thing is a purse.

This is our anniversary one. My favorite color is orange and Ed's is red.

This one is the favorite of both me and my husband. Autumn has all the best colors.

Well, Spring isn't bad, either. This is my second favorite.

Kind of lumpy. I am much better at hats now than I was then.

This one was actually made to go with a skirt I have with the same motif on it.

Yoga socks. I made these for my sister-in-law (along with that wonderful hat!) and her sister loved them so much she asked me to make some for her, which I did.

I copied this skirt off a picture I saw. No pattern but there were some very incorrect charts made by a crochet-a-long group. I corrected them and mean to type up the pattern.

I am currently making a blanket just like this one for a friend. Milli has one that is these colors inverted.

This hat was commissioned by my cousin for her son. Milli is a great model. Not pictured it the My Little Pony hat I made for her cousin and then another for her because she loved it so much.

This hat was then commissioned by a friend after she saw me working on the other one.

These are the newest ties.

And this is where most of the magic happens. I'm sitting in that folding chair with a project in front of me as I write.
I hope this is inspiring to those who like to craft. I love looking at stuff on Pinterest, Craftsy, Etsy, Ravelry, and crafting blogs for inspiration. Although, I will say that my sewing teacher and friend, Andrea, was a great inspiration and I miss being near her and seeing all her creations. If you wonder what kind of people come up with (and then actually successfully make!) some of the amazing stuff you find online, she is one of those kind. But if I'm giving shouts out, I should probably include both my sisters, my mother, all the ladies from my crochet club, and a gaggle of others, too.
