Another Year!

Milli loves soccer! Season starts next week!
It's time for another school year at LeTourneau University! The semester officially started on Monday and we are already in full term mode! No vacation day this coming week, either- it is full steam until Thanksgiving break! Today is STOMP- Student Teams/Organizations On The Mall. We are helping to represent the MEK-OP society: Mu Epsilon Kappa, Omicron Pi chapter. Essentially, it is the anime and game society on campus. This will be our third year being involved in the club. Here are a few pics from campus, plus a bonus pic or two.

Milli rode a bike for the first time outside Daddy's building.

She is now pretty good at it- but she has a different bike with Lightning McQueen on it now!

Molly loves LeTourneau University and even wears the merchandise!
National Bow Tie day was yesterday: Milli dressed for the occassion.

Molly is now 11 months old! Still likes to crawl around naked. Good thing it is 97 degrees here.

Easter Dresses!

So, I made some dresses for me and the girls for Easter this year. Here they are. It was the first time that I upcycled a pair of jeans into a skirt. I had this material hanging around for a few years and was hoping to make a sun dress out of it. But when I looked at it, I decided it needed something. An entire dress in this fabric would not have been flattering on me. So, when a favorite pair of jeans expired, e.i. ripped, I made them into a skirt. The fabric was so nice and had such a good drape that I decided to make dresses for the girls for Easter. I am just a novice sewer, so I decided to crochet the top and just add the skirt. This is how they turned out. I love, love, love them!

Molly is 6 months!

Our baby girl turned 6 months old this week! I can't believe that six months have gone by already. I know that those kids of sayings are very cliche, but the older I get the more true they become. Even though I have spent the last six months (well, more than two years, really) trying to enjoy every day and stage of my baby girls, the time still slips away. One of the best sentiments I ever heard about children is, "Long days, short years." If you want proof, go back to my old posts of Emilia's Birth (Feb 2012- posted late for obvious reasons), Milli is 1! (Nov 2012), Let's Catch Up (Aug 2013), and Milli is 2!! (Nov 2013).

When Milli turned six months old, we had her pictures professionally done. Well, we had a friend do them for free, but she is now a professional and her pics were amazing! We didn't have one year pics done for her and won't have six month ones done for Molly because we just don't have a discretionary fund large enough at the moment (all non-essential money is going toward new windows to rid us of the dreaded lead-based paint ones that don't open!). Still, I hope the pictures we do have make you smile.

This is the smiley face I see every day! She is a Jolly Molly (her nickname).

This is one of our first entire family pictures- taken in Alaska in July of 2013. Molly was 7 months old (in womb).

Milli got to hold her sister when she was about one hour old! One of the joys of giving birth at home.

This is Diane. She helped me get Molly out!

Both my girls do this one eyebrow raise thing- just like their daddy.

Milli's New Bike!

When we bought our house, there were two bikes in the back yard- a red, Lightning McQueen one and this really awesome, pink one! We kept them thinking that we would one day have two kids that would want bikes. I foolishly told Milli about the pink one last week- she immediately wanted to ride it. I told her, "We'll take it to campus, maybe at the end of Spring Break after we get back from San Antonio. We might even be able to ride it with Ava." Ava is a friend who just turned two. She got a tricycle for her birthday. Milli has been obsessed with the idea of riding her bike ever since.

Well, we all got sick as soon as we returned from San Antonio. Then it rained. So it wasn't until this week that I kept my promise and took Milli to campus to ride. Unfortunately, her legs are just not long enough for the pink bike. We pushed her around campus after making a stop at Daddy's lab so he could tighten the handle bars. We got some great pics of her enjoying herself (and yes, Nana, we have a helmet for her- I just forgot to take it to campus with me). When we got home, I let Milli get on the red bike because it looked to have a shorter seat to pedal distance to me. I was right! After I finish baking some bagels (2 out of three batches are done already), we are all off to campus, with the helmet and red bike, to do some more riding. In the mean time, enjoy my daughters' cuteness.

"The sun is too bright," she said, as she removed her sun glasses.

Milli and Molly were having a race! Actually, neither was moving.

But, boy, did she look cool.

After getting her handle bars adjusted. Daddy is already tired of pushing her.

But then he took her on a tour of campus.

Her legs don't quite reach.

Happy meeting.

My daughter is too cool to look at the camera.

Since the biking was too hard, we hit the park.

"Look, Molly, rocks!"

You can't tell, but Daddy is not holding Molly up. She sat like that for a long time!

This is probably the face I see her make most often.

She is a very Jolly Molly.

Note the LeTu shirt. We went to a preview week dinner right after this.
